Support Group for Family Members of those going through Divorce
Navigating a divorce is heavy, and when you’re the support system for the person going through it, you need a space that feels safe, organized, and—most importantly—constructive.
*📋 Group Guidelines & Ground Rules*
1. Confidentiality is Sacred
What is shared in the group stays in the group. To protect the privacy of our loved ones (and their legal proceedings), please do not screenshot conversations or discuss specific details with outsiders.
2. Support, Don't Just Vent
While this is a space to let off steam, let’s aim for **solution-oriented support**. If you're sharing a struggle, try to be open to perspectives on how to handle it gracefully.
3. No "Legal Advice
Unless you are a practicing family law attorney, please refrain from giving definitive legal advice. What worked in one divorce might be a disaster in another. Stick to sharing **personal experiences** rather than "You must do X."
4. Keep it Relevant
We’re all here for a specific reason. Let’s keep the "Good Morning" GIFs, political debates, and unrelated memes to a minimum so important messages don't get buried.
5. Practice Empathy (The No-Judgment Zone)
Divorce is messy and people often make mistakes. This is a place to support family members, not to judge the person going through the split or criticize their pace of healing.
Offer a listening ear or a "heart" react to show solidarity. | Don't share sensitive court documents or children's private info.
Admin Note: This group is a supplement to professional help, not a replacement for therapy or legal counsel. If things feel too heavy, please prioritize your mental health and step away from the chat as needed.
