*Welcome to the Intermittent Fasting Support Group*
My name is Shloime Engel. I started this group after finding success with intermittent fasting — I’ve lost over 40 lbs so far and am aiming for another 40 lbs, BeH.
When I began, my two older brothers had already been doing IF, and their guidance and support made a huge difference. This group is here to offer that same support to others.
*What is Intermittent Fasting (IF)?*
IF is an eating schedule, not a food restriction. The most common setup is 16:8 — eating for 8 hours and fasting for 16 (for example, eating from 12–8 and fasting from 8–12).
Fasting means: no food, only water, plain tea, and black coffee.
While eating healthy isn’t required to start IF, it makes fasting easier, reduces cravings, and helps turn IF into a sustainable long-term lifestyle. The same goes with not eating 3 hours before going to sleep.
Ease into it:
If 16 hours feels hard, start with 12 hours, then 14, and build up. The same goes for food and coffee — reduce sugar, milk, and carbs gradually. Learn what works best for your body.
